Lucy's Crab Shack

I love Lucy's Crab Shack by Sweetwater. LOVE IT.  I ordered a jelly roll and put this simple rail fence quilt together.
And this is my favorite print.  I love the clothesline with the pink polka dot bikini.  It makes me so happy!!!
Pardon the pics - it was early and I'm 8 weeks preggo and I didn't put as much effort as I normally do into my picture taking.  This is the whole quilt - it's not to big and not too small.  Just right for my porch.
I'm putting Halloween blocks together now - I will post pics soon, stay cool everyone!!!

What I've been up to...

It doesn't seem like it's been since NOVEMBER that I blogged.  But there is proof and it's true.  Many things have happened since November.  On a sad note, my father in law passed away New Years Day from a long sickness.  On a good note, Mike and I told him that we were expecting our 3rd baby.  He was absolutely thrilled!!! Melissa Lynn will be here on August 7th, 2012.  Wow!!! That's 8 weeks away!!!
I've got the quilting bug again.  I'm trying to utilize it because after the baby arrives, I will be quite tired busy for a few months.  My daughter moved into her big brother's room and I made the above quilt for her new "big girl bed".  The pattern is "Off Track" by Cluck Cluck Sew and the fabric is Ruby by Bonnie & Camille for Moda.  This pattern was SO easy and I love the way it turned out.  The jelly rolls had green in them but I left them out because my son's bed is a Spiderman theme and I wanted to keep the colors similar.
Folded and bound.  Just need to make a label and stitch it on.
I laid out the quilt and the kiddos immediately started "posing".  I love this one.
Love my son's expression in this one.

This one is for my niece, Maddelyn.  I gave her the fabric and showed her how to use my sewing machine.  She designed it and pieced it together and I quilted and bound it for her.

My next projects are for Halloween.  We will be planting our pumpkins next week and I'd like to see if I can sell some Halloween quilts at our pumpkin patch this year. Yeah!!!  However, I really need to get it all done before the new baby is here or it will be waiting until next year.

Halloween is over and our farm is getting ready for the winter. Our pumpkin patch was a success, even though we didn't open this year. We donated several pumpkins to schools and churches and we sold bulk pumpkins by the truck load. We also sold pumpkins off a wagon by the side of the road. I was pleased with the turn out and I'm already making plans for next year. My house is almost cleaned - why is it easier for me to quilt when the house is clean? I need to finish some projects, including this one:
I started this Christmas one last year and I'm going to finish it this year.... (fingers crossed)

I still have to start this one from the Fat Quarter Shop amongst several other projects.I purchased a bunch of Halloween fabric for next year from the Fat Quarter Shop, they have a 50% sale on all halloween fabric, yeah!!! I'd like to make some fun stuff to sell at the pumpkin patch next year... (again, fingers crossed) My next post will be another project update, have a great day!!!

The Farmer's Wife

I am a farmer's wife, so you can imagine my excitement when this arrived today. Besides my wonky stars QAL, I'll be reading this lovely lady this weekend.

On deck is Haunted Hollow II. I haven't exactly decided what I'm going to do with these 4 panels, but I will figure something out before Halloween.
I'm taking my kiddos to Nana and Paw's today for a quick visit. I'll be back soon!!!

Block #2

We are up and running in the "network" part of the house. We now have TV - I had NO idea how bad the damage was from Irene!!! I missed the news so much. Then my second catastrophe happened. My Janome decided to break down. I have to take it in for the diagnosis - more to come on my sweet Jan. I decided to get out the ole' Janome 9700, my embroidery machine. She wasn't crazy about straight stitching, until I found the right foot for her. Some of my block #2's for the Happy Quilting QAL aren't straight or acurately "pointy" but I'm managing. I hope to get 3 more of these babies done tonight...

I've fallen head over heals in love with American Banner Rose, isn't she beautiful?
