Uncle Sam

The tax man has taken over my life.  I'm a book keeper by day (mostly night) for a small business.  It's time to catch up on everything.  It's not fun but must be done.  Here are some pictures that I took to pass the time during this maddening time.
I made this quilt for my Dad for Christmas.  He asked for one so how could I possibly NOT make one for him?
Fabric is Friendship, Collections for a Cause by Howard Marcus Dunn.
Still working on two Halloween quilts.
I did however find some squares in strange places.
I think she may have wanted them for pot holders in her kitchen.  (Yes, those are Thomas the Train "undies".) Love that beautiful munchkin.

My Blitzen Dresden!!! And a Giveaway!

Welcome to the Dare to Dresden blog hop!!!  Special thanks to Madam Samm at Sew we Quilt and Christine at Quilt Monster in my Closet for hostessing and cheerleading!!!  Now for my project:
I have to admit that I had something completely different in mind when I started this project.
I wanted to make a snowflake table runner with dresden pieces.
It didn't work out the way I had hoped.
However I love the finished project!!!  Very simple.  Those dresden pieces are charm squares.
Yep, 5 inch dresden pieces. 20 a complete plate times 3 equals 60 pieces.
Divided by 2 (two pieces per charm square) equals 30 charm squares.
The background squares are 14 x 14 inches. Bind and quilt as you please.
Now time for the giveaway!  I have two extra blitzen charm packs for one lucky winner!!!
Just follow my blog and leave me a comment about how you would use the charm packs.
I will post the winner on Thursday by random generator.
Thanks for stopping by and please check out my fellow dresden bloggers today:

For Tina

For Tina

See the "M" on her shirt?  Soooo cute, right?  My friend Tina made if for her. This weekend she and her family weigh heavy on my heart.  Her father passed away two days ago and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this time.

Much love Tina,
Stephanie

The Munchkins

These three munchkins have been keeping me busy.  This picture was taken in August when my little girl was born.  Now she looks like this:
Love those rolls!
I've been busy with the munchkins and I've started quilting again.  I've joined the Dare to Dresden quilt challenge, my post will be on January 28th.  Enjoy the day.
